About Camp del Ferro

The newly completed exposed brick building is the result of the collaboration of the three architectural practices Barceló Balanzó Arquitectes, AIA and Gustau Gili. Making intelligent use of the reduced dimensions of the site and, with its industrial aesthetic and imposing volume, Camp del Ferro Sports Centre blends perfectly into the urban fabric of the surrounding area. Its creators want the building to be seen as a contribution to the dialogue between the industrial past and the sustainable future of Barcelona’s La Sagrera district.

About Brick Award InsighTours

Guiding Architects, the international network for professional architecture tours, and the Austrian building material company Wienerberger are launching the first edition of InsighTours, a series of guided visits that allow visitors to experience first-hand some of the buildings nominated for the Brick Award. Every two years, this international, independent accolade, launched in 2004 by Wienerberger, honours the most outstanding examples of contemporary brick architecture. In 2022, InsighTours is coming to Spain and the Netherlands, with two events in the Poliesportiu Camp del Ferro in Barcelona and the Koopvaardersplantsoen House in Amsterdam respectively.
